Dear Members and Friends:
My two terms has gone by so fast that it seems like just yesterday you allowed me to serve as your President.
Starting in November 2003, I’ve had the privilege and pleasure to carry out the BAAT community affairs and its
mission to the best of my ability with the highest objectivity and integrity. I hope I have served you well.
Every time we change hands, the fabric of BAAT becomes stronger and more colorful as the diverse but unique
contributions and legacy left behind by each officer. With this positive note, I would like to urge you to get
involved in every possible way to elect the new capable officers or being elected yourself as one to contribute
your stroke of unique color to the BAAT fabrics in the future. BAAT needs you!
To all respected members, BAAT thanks you for your active membership status, support, and contributions.
Behind every successful event, there are countless individuals who have played significant roles and worked
relentlessly behind the scenes. I am not here to take all the credits for the success of this organization, but
taking this one last opportunity honoring where the honor is due for your wonderful job. Without your support,
I would not be a legitimate President serving for an association of the people, by the people, for the people
and to the people. As an appreciative token of your support, BAAT will treat you with what you deserve: a
good dinner with a lot of desserts and sweets. To even sweeten the deal, our national legend and public
heart-throb May Sweet will sweeten your heart and soul with her greatest and sweetest songs to make you
even a “sweet” person. I try hard to express my thank-you, but my words just keep baffling the description!
Hope you get my point. So mark November 12 on your calendar as a “BAAT Member Appreciation Day”. So
this is your show! This treat is all about you! Be ready for the big fun-filled night with May Sweet.
To all Board of Directors and Executive Committee, thank you so much for your faithful support, outpouring
generosity and precious personal time committed toward the excellence of our BAAT by standing firm on
principles and truth and being there for it. I personally thank Ko Robert Chan & Daw Marina; Aunty San &
Dr. Thane Kyaw; Dr. Hla Aung & Aunty Kyu and Daw Sein; Ko Maw Si & Ma Molly Win; Ko Sammy & Ma Mi Lay
New; Daw Thet Thet Win; and Ko Mee Htoo Bhai and many others for your indispensable supports.
Anyway, let us have a fabulous time at the Thidingyut/Tazaungdine meeting with friends – old and new, far
and near, high and low – to strengthen our friendship, understanding, and social bonds among our Burmese
families with the diverse ethnic backgrounds in which we take pride. Let’s have funs!
Respectfully,
Stephen Yoe, CPA
President 2005
