BAAT 2010 Thingyan Picnic

Date: May 8, 2010 (Saturday)

Venue: Bear Creek Park, Pavilion No. 4

Time: 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

LUNCH

Please bring 10 to 15 servings of your favorite dish to share your excellent cooking with friends. Home-made dishes are very popular at the picnic. BAAT will provide white rice, drinks, tea, snack, and plastic utensils.
BAAT MEMBERS AND THOSE WHO CANNOT BRING FOOD CAN ENJOY LUNCH BY PAYING $5.00 PER PERSON AT THE REGISTRATION DESK.

MEMBERSHIP DUES

Membership dues can be paid at the picnic or mailed to U Robert Chan (VP-Finance) at165 N. Hall Drive, Sugar Land, TX 77478. Please write checks payable to BAAT. <<Single membership: $10>> <<Family membership: $25>>

If you have not paid membership dues in 2009, please reinstate your membership. Members are not required to pay past dues for the years before 2010.

BURMESE items

Keeping up with their tradition, Kathleen (Ma Nwe) and Bruce Sebecke will bring their collection of Burmese magazines, novels and tapes to the picnic which will be sold at reasonable prices. They plan to donate all of the proceeds from their book sale to BAAT.

If you wish to sell Burmese music and/or culture related items that may be of interest to BAAT members at the picnic, please call any 2010 BAAT officer in advance to find out about the BAAT policies.

THE AUCTION

There will be an auction if enough hidden treasures from your home find their way to the picnic. You can donate all or a portion of your proceeds to BAAT. PLEASE CALL ANY BAAT OFFICER IN ADVANCE AND BRING YOUR ITEMS. The contact information of the officers is listed on this web site under "about us"

Housekeeping issues

• Register at the front desk and pick up your nametag, review your membership status and contact information. Browse the detailed schedule of events which will be posted by the registration desk.

• If your address changed, please provide your new contact information so that you will continue to receive BAAT news via email or by regular mail.

• Game timetable will be posted on a board. Please check it often to find out the exact time of a game.

• Please do not throw water at people who stay inside the pavilion or anyone who does not wish to get wet. Please understand and respect the needs of others. For safety reasons, water balloons are prohibited.
